Available Trim Levels & Options

The 2016 Toyota 4Runner is available in 4 different trim versions:

  • The first two versions are available in standard and Premium sub-trims. The basic level of equipment available with SR5 is quite impressive - it comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, mud guards, a tow hitch, fog lights, LED tail lights and roof rails as standard
  • The Trail version includes all the SR5 features plus unique wheels and some exterior design features such as silver components and the option to select terrain modes.
  • What makes the next trim, the TRD Pro, special is the matte-black wheels fitted with special tires for more enjoyable off-roading, an aluminum front skid plate, special shock absorbers from Bilstein, upgraded springs in the front and elevated ride features.
  • The Limited version replaces the locking rear differential with a locking center differential and comes with 20-inch wheels, adaptive roll-reducing dampers and full-tie four-wheel drive
  • The SR5 and Limited models come in rear-wheel drive and 4WD versions, while the others are 4WD only.
  • The 4.0-liter, 24-valve, DOHC V-6 engine the 4Runner comes with is able to deliver 270HP at 278 lb-ft. Available in only one powertrain version, the 4Runner comes with a 5-speed automatic transmission.

Interior Design and Overview

All 4Runner models come with antilock disc brakes, traction control, stability control, side and knee airbags as well as active head restraints for the front seats and full-length curtain airbags. 4WD models come with Toyota's well-known A-Trac system, an off-road traction control system for slippery conditions. All 4Runners feature a touchscreen system, with functionality varying in complexity depending on the trim. With the exception of the entry level SR5 and the Trail, all models come with a navigation system.The cabin provides comfortable seating for 5 adults, which can be extended to 7 with the optional third row of seats, but you must be aware that the third row is more suitable for transporting children than adults.

Placed on a 109.8 inch wheelbase, measuring 190.7 inches in length, 75.8 inches in width, 72 inches in height and a cargo volume of 9 cubic feet, the new 4Runner pairs comfort with robustness.
